Today I was for the first time introduced to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saulsteinbergfoundation.org\/gallery.html\">Saul Steinberg (1914-1999)<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/scottmccloud.com\/\">Scott McCloud&#8217;s blog<\/a>.  Steinberg was an artist whose work appeared in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/\">New Yorker<\/a> for decades.  Looking over his work, I feel like he falls somewhere between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.picasso.fr\/us\/picasso_page_index.php\">Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shelsilverstein.com\/\">Shel Silverstein (1930-1999)<\/a>, wielding the fine control and minimalism of the former and the wild daring scrawl of the latter to create thoughtful and intelligent images.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Untitled,&#8221; 1948.Work of Saul Steinberg.SaulSteinbergFoundation.org.
